Why a SARL needs a registered office
A SARL only exists in law once it is entered in the trade register. To register it you need articles of association, and the articles must state the address of the registered office. No address means incomplete articles, and no registration.
In the registration file for a legal entity, the CNRC asks for a title deed to the premises or a notarised lease, drawn up in the company's name. A domiciliation contract signed before a notary is one of the accepted proofs of registered office.

Domiciling your SARL step by step

Check that the activity can be domiciled
Look at your activity code. Services, construction and export usually qualify. Retail, workshops and storage need premises.

Reserve the company name with the CNRC
The name certificate fixes the company's name. The domiciliation contract will be drawn up in that name.

Sign the domiciliation contract before a notary

Have the articles drafted with the office address
The notary writes the domiciliation address into the SARL's articles, signed by all partners.

File with the CNRC
With the contract, the articles and the other documents, the SARL is registered. Next come the NIF (tax ID), the NIS (statistical ID) and the manager's CASNOS (self-employed social security) registration.

What if the SARL already exists?
Changing address means transferring the registered office. Since the address is in the articles, you need a partners' decision amending the articles, a notarial deed, then an amendment of the trade register entry. The new domiciliation contract is the proof of the new office. The amendment must be started within one month at most of the change (article 4 bis of Law 04-08, inserted by Law 26-12 of 8 June 2026).
