Form G n°50: the monthly return for taxes and duties
Form G n°50 is the return that businesses under Algeria's real tax regime file every month to declare and pay their taxes: VAT, income tax withheld from salaries, corporate tax instalments and other levies. It is filed with payment by the 20th of the following month, even when there is nothing to pay: it is then a nil return (néant).

What this form is for
Form G n°50 brings together on one form the taxes and duties a business owes for a given month. Each line is one tax: you give the base, the rate and the amount, then the total to pay. Filing and payment go together.
The most common lines (depending on your activity)
- VAT: VAT collected on the month's sales, minus deductible VAT on purchases.
- Payroll income tax (IRG): tax withheld at source on salaries paid to employees.
- Corporate income tax (IBS): provisional instalments, in the months set by the tax calendar.
- Withholding tax on certain payments, such as distributed income or services from non-residents.
- Stamp duties and other taxes specific to certain activities.
Form G n°50 does not replace the annual return on results (the tax return package), which is filed on a different date. It covers the month's flow: what you collected or withheld and now pay over to the Treasury.
Who must file it
Every taxpayer under the real tax regime:
- companies subject to the IBS: SARL, EURL, SPA;
- general partnerships (SNC);
- individuals under the real regime, because their turnover exceeds the IFU ceiling or because they opted for it.
The nil return applies to everyone: in a month with no sales, no salaries paid and no instalment, you still file the G n°50, marked néant.

Filling it in, step by step
- 1
Gather the month's figures
Sales invoices, purchase invoices, the month's payroll, and the IBS instalment if this is an instalment month.
- 2
Work out VAT
VAT collected on sales, minus deductible VAT on purchases and any credit carried forward. A positive balance is payable; a negative balance is a credit to carry forward.

- 4
Add the month's other lines
IBS instalment if due this month, withholding tax on certain payments, stamp duties or taxes specific to your activity.

Common mistakes
- Not filing in a month with no turnover, forgetting the nil return.
- Deducting VAT from an improper purchase invoice or one made out to someone else.
- Forgetting the income tax withheld from salaries, or declaring it in the wrong month.
- Filing without paying: filing and payment go together.
- Confusing the month declared with the month of filing.
- Using G n°50 while under the IFU: for employees' income tax, the form is G n°50 ter.
- Not keeping a copy of every return and every receipt.
Frequently asked questions
Do I file a G n°50 if I invoiced nothing this month?
Yes. Filing is required even with nothing to pay: you file the G n°50 marked néant (nil).
What is the deadline?
The 20th of the month after the month declared: October's G n°50 is filed and paid by 20 November.
My SARL has just been set up: when does G n°50 start?
From the month activity starts. If activity starts in March, March's G n°50 is due by 20 April, even if it is a nil return.
Can G n°50 be filed online?
Yes, on the DGI's Jibaya'tic portal, for taxpayers whose file is linked to it, including those managed by the DGE. Others file at their tax office counter.
I am under the IFU: does this apply to me?
Not for your activity, which is declared on G n°12 and G n°12 bis. If you employ staff, the income tax withheld from their salaries is declared every quarter on G n°50 ter.
What if deductible VAT exceeds VAT collected?
The balance is a VAT credit. You carry it forward to the following months' G n°50, as a deduction from VAT payable.
Can Neuron fill in my G n°50?
No. Neuron only fills in business setup forms and does not do bookkeeping or routine returns: this guide is free and all you need to do it yourself. For bookkeeping and ongoing returns, see an accountant.
Legal basis (4 texts)
Sets out VAT filing and payment by taxpayers under the real regime, month by month, on the previous month's turnover.
The employer withholds income tax (IRG) from each salary paid and pays it over to the Treasury within the first twenty days of the following month.
Companies subject to the IBS pay this tax in instalments during the year, on the dates of the tax calendar, using form G n°50.
The declaration of existence (form G n°8) opens the tax file; monthly filing obligations start with the activity.
