CASNOS up-to-date certificate: getting it and using it
The CASNOS up-to-date certificate (attestation de mise à jour) proves that, on the date it is issued, you owe nothing to CASNOS, the social security fund for self-employed workers. You only get it if you are registered, your contribution base is declared and your contribution is paid. You request it online on the Damancom portal or at your CASNOS office, and many files ask for it, starting with public tenders.

What this form is for
The up-to-date certificate is written proof that you owe nothing to CASNOS at the time it is issued. It shows your identity, your registration number and the status of your contribution account.
It proves nothing else. It does not prove that your business exists (that is the trade register extract), nor your tax position (that is the tax roll extract, extrait de rôle, issued by the tax office), nor that your employees are declared (that is the CNAS up-to-date certificate).
Who will ask you for it
- the contracting authority of a public tender: tender specifications generally ask for valid CASNOS and CNAS up-to-date certificates;
- the administration handling a licence or its renewal, for example the licence for engineers or for environmental consultancies;
- other public bodies, depending on the procedure;
- some private clients or partners who want to check you are in good standing before signing.
- deadline to declare your yearly contribution base
- 1 March
- deadline to pay the year's contribution
- 30 June
- contribution rate on the base
- 15%
- minimum yearly contribution (minimum wage of 24,000 DA)
- 43,200 DA
Who must file it
Anyone registered with CASNOS can request the certificate, meaning any self-employed person working on their own account:
- a trader registered in the trade register as an individual;
- the majority managing partner of a SARL and the sole partner managing an EURL;
- a craftsperson holding a craftsman card;
- liberal professions;
- a self-entrepreneur (auto-entrepreneur).
The certificate is personal. In a SARL, the majority manager's certificate is in their own name, with their registration number. If the company has employees, it also needs its own up-to-date certificate from CNAS, the salaried workers' fund: the two are often requested together.

Filling it in, step by step
- 1
Check that you are up to date
Year's base declared before 1 March, contribution paid before 30 June, no unpaid earlier year. If not, settle that first.
- 2
Gather your references
Registration number, NIN, Damancom login, receipt for the latest payment.
- 3
Make the request
On Damancom or Khadamati, choose the up-to-date certificate. At the office, ask for it at the counter with your identity card.
- 4
Check the document
Name, registration number, period covered and date of issue. Fix any error before filing your file, not after.
- 5
Make copies
Public tenders often ask for certified copies. Keep the original and a readable scan.
- 6
Renew in time
Each new contribution year calls for a new certificate. Request it again after your yearly payment.
Where to file it
Online, on Damancom
The Damancom portal groups CASNOS online services, including the request for an up-to-date certificate. Log in to your account, choose the certificate request and follow the screens. According to the government public services portal, once the request is processed, you collect the document at your office.
On the Labour Ministry's Khadamati portal
The Khadamati portal of the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security also offers a download service for the up-to-date certificate of self-employed workers. It is another possible route, provided your account is up to date.
At your CASNOS office
The office that manages your file, the one for your place of business, also issues the certificate at the counter. Bring your identity card, your registration number and, if the payment is recent, your receipt.

Deadlines
There is no deadline to request the certificate: you request it when a file requires it. What matters happens before that: until the year's base is declared and the contribution paid, your account is not up to date and the certificate cannot be issued.
| Step | Deadline | Effect on the certificate |
|---|---|---|
| Registration | 10 days after the activity starts | No registration, no up-to-date certificate |
| Declaring the base | 1 March every year | An undeclared base blocks the account update |
| Paying the contribution | 30 June every year | Once paid, the account can be marked up to date |
| Requesting the certificate | When a file requires it | Allow processing time before the file's due date |
Tender specifications and administrations often state that the certificate must be "valid". Check the period and date shown on the document, and request a new one if yours relates to an earlier contribution year.
Common mistakes
- Requesting the certificate before paying the year's contribution: the account is not up to date and the request fails.
- Forgetting to declare the base before 1 March, thinking payment is enough.
- Submitting a certificate for an earlier contribution year when the file requires a valid one.
- Providing the manager's CASNOS certificate instead of the CNAS certificate of the company that employs staff, or the other way round.
- Confusing the up-to-date certificate with the non-registration certificate.
- Waiting until the day before a tender deadline to make the request.
Frequently asked questions
How long is the certificate valid?
We found no official text setting a single validity period. Look at the period and date on the document, and read what the file requires: a public tender generally asks for a "valid" certificate. If in doubt, request a recent one.
Can I get it if I have not yet paid this year's contribution?
No. The certificate states that your account is up to date. Declare your base, pay the contribution, then make the request.
I had no turnover: does this still apply to me?
Yes. Even with no income, you contribute on the minimum base, equal to the yearly minimum wage: 43,200 DA in 2026. Once that amount is paid, you can request the certificate.
I pay in instalments: can I get the certificate?
Decree 22-121 allows a payment plan for a person in difficulty who is up to date for previous years. Whether the certificate is issued during the plan is decided by the office: ask when the plan is set up.
My SARL is bidding for a tender: which certificates should I provide?
The CASNOS certificate for the self-employed manager, and the CNAS certificate for the company if it employs staff. In building, public works and water engineering, specifications often add the CACOBATPH certificate. The tender specifications are what count.
Does the CASNOS certificate prove I am in good standing with the tax office?
No. For your tax position, you need the tax roll extract or the tax status certificate issued by the tax office.
Can Neuron request the certificate for me?
No. Neuron only fills in business setup forms and does not do bookkeeping or routine returns: this guide is free and all you need to do it yourself.
Legal basis (6 texts)
In a public tender, the documents supporting the declaration of candidacy, including the CASNOS up-to-date certificate, are only required from the winning bidder. It provides them within 10 days at most of the request, and before the provisional award is published. Otherwise its bid is rejected.
